DRAM

Dram is a Tangible Interactive Product, designed to overcome a specific barrier: taking the first step towards learning new skills in the music field. The interface of Dram is designed to be radically simple, to maintain low barrier to entry and prioritise the experience of producing music. As each ‘pin’ is entered into a ‘hole’, it activates a corresponding beat which play in a loop, allowing a player to add or delete new notes through the insertion/release of pins. Permutation and combination of such pins, played sequentially, produce unique sound tracks, helping first-timers understand rhythm, beats and compositions better. Through Dram, we aim to introduce music to people in a fun and engaging manner, building new meanings and values into people’s lives.
