METI

METI (Milan Ecology Trash Intelligence) is a smart collection system based on real-time waste data from collective bins that applies AI to optimize collection processes and engage citizens.  Its purpose is to increase the recycling rate by enhancing sorted waste quality while monitoring and optimizing the collection of sorted trash and modelling waste quality distribution. While METI’s short term goal is to optimize current resources, its long term goal is to contribute positively to the circular economy by providing high quality waste stock to recycling centers.
