Art Discovery

The project consists of an implementation of Seeing AI, a Microsoft application which aims to enhance the visually impaired lives by exploiting AI technology. The new designed “Art Discovery” feature represents a mobility function for art purposes: it allows visually impaired to independently discover the artistic heritage of a city, giving them the possibility to explore the world around them from a new perspective. The application guides the user to the point of interest and, when close, it narrates the monument’s content through an audio description, tailored for the specific user through the use of AI. By embracing the concepts of “pleasure of discovery” and “randomness”, the project allows visually impaired to enjoy their route while moving from one place to another.
